article The Brief The VA plans to hire over 2,000 claims processors across dozens of nationwide locations to handle rising benefit claim volumes. The hiring drive builds on a record fiscal year 2026, during which more than 13,000 VA employees processed 3.1 million claims with a three-year-high 93.88% accuracy rate and an appeal rate of just 3.2%. Active-duty military members transitioning to civilian life are encouraged to apply through the Warrior Training Advancement Course (WARTAC), which offers direct training and a pathway to employment at VA Regional Benefits Offices.
